Happy New Year and every blessing to you and your family for the term ahead.
As you may be already aware, due to the on-going Covid-19 pandemic, our Christmas holidays have been extended to Monday, January 11th 2021. We do not plan to engage in any on-line learning this week.
In the past few weeks we have entered a new phase of uncertainty in fighting this horrible, sinister virus. As the numbers of positive cases grow alarmingly across all age groups, all areas and all hospitals our thoughts and prayers are with these families and the staff who care for them at this worrying time.
The importance of caring for each other continues to be our primary concern. Following the government health guidelines in reducing all our contacts has never been more important. Equally we are blessed to live in Killarney, so as the current dry weather continues, get out for a walk, run, cycle or swim each day.
Yet, despite our best efforts, many of us will test positive or be deemed a close contact and have to self-isolate or restrict our movements, these are the times when we need extra care and support. As a school community we are here to support each other. We are also here to help with the practicalities of collecting shopping, prescriptions etc. contact Rory on 0877559237 and we will arrange the timing for delivery and any other help you may require. We are here to help.
The government's decision to re-open our schools or not next Monday will become clearer later this week.
We will organise for each eventuality when that decision is made. In the meantime use these days to rest and stay safe. As a decision emerges I will be back in touch, otherwise the next scheduled update is next Thursday, January 7th 2021.
